The Monkey Engineer, also known as the Monkey Engie, is a Tower that returns in BTD7: Planet of the Apes.
Changes from BTD6
Yes, the Monkey Engineer is in BTD6 now (and the ability to make sentries no longer occupy footprint is a G E N I U S move by NinjaKiwi btw). The BTD7PotA Engineer has these differences from the BTD6 incarnation:
- Cleansing Foam has 30 pierce once again. It's also at the same path as Bloon Trap like its BTD5 incarnation.
- Cleansing Foam is significantly buffed to be able to strip off Fortified and Ghost properties, as well as applying the Armor Broken status effect.
- Bloon Trap is immune to round income penalty.
- Sprockets returns to the 2nd path, and it now appreciably increases the fire rate of ALL Engineers and Sentries within range, and the fire rate buff can stack up to 6 times per entity.
- Engineer hitbox size decreased by 10%.
- Engineer fire rate increased by 11%.
- To replace Sprockets - which was moved to Path 2 - a new, unique Path 1 Tier 3 upgrade is added.
- Overclock ability can carry over rounds.
- Overclock ability can now be affected by Tech Bot.
- Overclock ability lasts 62 seconds instead of 60.
- Base cost nerfed back to $450.
- Path 3 Tier 2 upgrade is now "Red-Hot Nails" instead of "Pin"
Upgrades
Path 1
Medium | |
---|---|
Sentry Gun Automatically creates sentry guns and deploys them on the ground nearby. Sentries shoot sharp steel pins at the bloons but only last a short time. |
$500 |
Fast Engineering Engineer increases his build speed, producing sentry guns more often. |
$550 |
Dispensers The Monkey Engineer builds Dispensers from TF2. These dispensers heal towers around them and increase their fire rate by 10%. |
$2,000 |
Missile Sentries
Sentries become much more powerful and fire missiles in conjunction with nails. |
$7,000 |
Antimatter Emplacements
Sentries become powered by antimatter and now fire bolts and missiles composed of concentrated positrons. Fire rate increased by 200%. |
$63,484 |
Gluon Defense
Deploys extremely powerful sentries that rip apart the forces keeping quarks together, firing these projectiles as quark-gluon plasma and inflicting thousands of DPS. Dispensers increase the fire rate of towers around them by 200% and heal them extremely rapidly. |
$450,000 |
Path 2
Medium | |
---|---|
Larger Service Area Engineer can shoot further and deploy sentries in a larger area. |
$650 |
Enhanced Targeting Engineer can shoot further and deploy sentries in an even larger area. The Engineer and his sentries can also detect Camo Bloons. |
$700 |
Sprockets Monkey Engineer uses sprockets to appreciably increase the fire rate of all Engineers and Sentries within range, and the fire rate buff can stack up to 6 times per entity. |
$1,250 |
Overclock Activated Ability: Overclock - target tower becomes super powered for 62 seconds. |
$13,500 |
GigaHertz Multiplier Overclock ability is stronger and the Engineer's sprockets have an even stronger fire rate boost effect. |
$141,283 |
Ultimate Overclock
The paragon of transimianistic modification. Buffs granted by the Overclock ability are multiplied by 5x. |
$612,205 |
Path 3
Medium | |
---|---|
9-Inch Nails Engineer's nailgun upgrades to shoot massive 9-inch nails that can pop 8 bloons at once including frozen bloons. Affects Sentries too. |
$650 |
Red Hot Nails Monkey Engineer and his sentries are now able to pop Lead Bloons. |
$800 |
Cleansing Foam Engineer uses a special dispenser to spray down the track with a cleansing foam that removes Camo, Regen, Fortified, and Ghost properties. Also pops Lead Bloons and applies an 8-second Armor Broken effect to all Bloons that touch the foam. |
$1,220 |
Bloon Trap Creates a powerful bloon trap that destroys all the bloons caught in it. Once full, trap will destroy itself after a short time. If emptied manually, gives you extra cash. Only one trap from each trap upgrade path can be active at a time. |
$3,600 |
Hydrocarbon Stasis Field Enhanced trap puts imprisoned Bloons under molecular stasis. Trap can now capture MOAB-Class Bloons up to ZOMG and DDT rank. Significantly increased trap capacity. |
$58,475 |
Quantum Entanglement Trap
Highly-advanced quantum workings stick the quantum states of captured Bloons into the trap, destroying all hopes of them escaping. Trap can also suck in Bloons within a large radius of itself. Bloons sucked into distant Bloonchippers have a chance to be teleported into the trap. Trap can now capture BADs. The trap can also be sucked in by Bloonchippers to yield cash, and once full, the trap will automatically seek out Monkey Farmers and Bloonchippers. |
