CubingSpiders Bloons Tower Defense 7 (often shortened as CubingSpiders BTD7 or CSBTD7) is a fan-made sequel to the Bloons Tower Defense game series. It is developed by Ninja Kiwi and CubingSpider 8128 (the person writing this conception). It was first announced on December 27th 2023. The soft release launched on July 17th 2024, and the full release on March 29th 2025.

CSBTD7 contains some new Monkeys, Heroes and Bloon Types, as well as returning Special Agents from BTD5 (although they work a little different here). It also introduces Tier 6 upgrades that bring the Monkeys' power to a whole new level. But its most important addition is Story Mode, which features a campaign of many different quests that tell the story of Monkeys and Bloons. The game takes place in the CSiverse.

April 14th 2025 - The main page of the game is now more or less finished. I will keep working on specific features on seperate pages.

Track Mode[]

See also: Rounds (CSBTD7)

In Track Mode you get the classic BTD experience. You can earn medals for completing a track in a particular game mode. The different tracks are divided into five difficulties: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert and Extreme (Unlike in BTD5, there are no special rules for Extreme tracks). There are four game difficulties: Easy, Medium, Hard and Impoppable. Each difficulty has its own game modes.

The number of rounds is the same as in BTD6, but most Bloon types appear earlier. For example, the first BAD appears in Round 80 instead of 100. This is done so that all Bloon types can make an appearance in a normal game, without making the games last ridiculously long. Starting cash is also increased to 900.

Difficulties and gamemodes[]

Easy[]

On Easy difficulty, Monkeys and their upgrades are 10% cheaper, the Bloons move 10% slower, and you start with a generous 200 health. You must beat the MOAB on Round 40 to win. Doing so will earn a bronze medal for that track.

Standard: Easy difficulty with no additional modifiers.

Primary Only: Beat Easy difficulty using only Primary-class Monkeys. Unlike in BTD6, you cannot use Heroes. Special Agents are still allowed. Unlocked when beating Standard.

Deflation: You start on Round 21 with 8000 cash, and you get additional cash every 10 rounds. You can't gain any income by other means. At least a little more interesting compared to BTD6. Beat Round 60 to win. Unlocked after beating Standard.

Medium[]

On Medium difficulty, Monkeys and their upgrades have their normal price, the Bloons move at their normal speed, and you have a fair 150 health. You must beat 5 tightly packed BFBs on Round 60 to win. Doing so will earn a silver medal for that track.

Standard: Medium difficulty with no additional modifiers.

Military only: Beat Medium difficulty using only Military-class Monkeys. Again, Heroes are not allowed, but Special Agents are. Unlocked after beating Standard.

Apopalypse: You face random Bloon rounds with no breaks in between. Pretty much the same as in BTD6. Unlocked after beating Military only.

Reverse: The track has been reversed! The Bloons now spawn at the exit, journeying towards the entrance. The Bloons also spawn in reverse order inside one round. Unlocked after beating Standard.

Hard[]

On Hard difficulty, Monkeys and their upgrades are 10% more expensive, the Bloons move 15% faster, and you start with just 100 health. You start on Round 3, facing Blue Bloons straight away, and you must beat the BAD on Round 80 to win. Doing so will earn you a gold medal for that track.

Standard: Hard difficulty with no additional modifiers.

Double HP MOABs: Precisely what the name says. All MOAB-Class Bloons have their HP doubled. Unlocked after beating Standard.

Cash Crisis: The Monkey army is undergoing an economic crisis! All methods of gaining cash (including starting cash and cash from Bloon pops) is only two-thirds as effective. It's like Half Cash from BTD6, but less brutal. Unlocked after beating Double HP MOABs.

Magic Only: Beat Hard difficulty using only Magic-class Monkeys. Once again, Heroes are not allowed, but Special Agents are. Unlocked after beating Standard.

Alternate Bloon Rounds: You face an alternate set of rounds that is thougher and less predictable. Watch out, as certain Bloon Types can sneak up unexpectedly. Unlocked after beating Magic Only.

Impoppable[]

On Impoppable difficulty, Monkeys and their upgrades demand a high cost, being 20% more expensive. The Bloons move 15% faster, and you have exactly 1 health, so when a Bloon leaks, it's an instant game over! You start on round 4, where you will face a Blue rush immediately. Luckily you get 300 extra starting cash, so 1200 in total, to make up for that. You have to beat the mighty PAIN on Round 100 to win. Doing so will earn you a diamond medal for that track. Unlocked after beating Hard-Standard.

Standard: Impoppable difficulty with no additional modifiers.

Support & Heroes only: Beat Impoppable difficulty using only Support-class Monkeys and Heroes. Special Agents are also allowed. Unlocked after beating Standard.

CHIMPS: This will test your skills to the max. No Continues, Health lost, Income, Monkey Knowledge, SPecial Agents, or Selling. You can retry the last round when you lose. Unlike in BTD6, there is no Black CHIMPS medal, so feel free to retry last round an unlimited number of times.

Sandbox[]

Sandbox Mode is a place where you can test strategies in a safe environment where you have everything in control. You can send Bloon waves with a selected Bloon Type, count and spacing. You can also send specific Rounds.

Unlike in BTD 6, Sandbox Mode is seperate from any difficulty. You can change the difficulty in it at any time. Sandbox Mode is unlocked after earning any medal on the selected track.

Ruby Medal[]

The Ruby Medal is a hidden medal that is obtained when beating Round 200 on any difficulty or gamemode. There is a hint for how to obtain it in the achievements.

Track borders[]

There are six different track borders to reflect the maps you earned on the track. A higher tier border always overrides a lower tier.

Plain: The standard border for a track. Obtained when unlocking the track

Bronze: Obtained when earning all bronze (Easy difficulty) medals for that track

Silver: Obtained when earning all silver (Medium difficulty) medals for that track

Gold: Obtained when earning all gold (Hard difficulty) medals for that track

Black: Obtained when earning all medals for that track, except for the Ruby Medal

White: Obtained when earning all medals for that track, including the Ruby Medal

Story Mode[]

Main article: Story Mode (CSBTD7)

Story Mode is a new addition to the series, where you play through a campaign of quests that tell the story of how the Bloons invade the Monkey Planet for the 8th time (The first attack was the original Bloons game, and the next six attacks were the official BTD games), and how the Monkeys (hopefully) keep them from taking over. It features 7 acts, and each act has around 10 quests. Some Monkeys must be unlocked by beating their respective Story Mode quests.

Monkeys (Towers)[]

Monkeys, also knows as Towers, are the units that you place down to stop the Bloons from reaching the exit. There are 29 Monkey types, divided into four classes: Primary, Military, Magic and Support. Each Monkey type has three upgrade paths with six upgrades each, for a total of 18 upgrades. You can upgrade one path all the way to Tier 6, and another path up to Tier 2, and you must leave the third path without upgrades. You can get only one of each Tier 5 and Tier 6 upgrade, but once you buy a Tier 6 upgrade, you can buy three more of the preceding Tier 5 upgrade. Unlike in BTD6, upgrades are not unlocked individually, but you unlock an entire tier at once, so all three upgrades of that tier of that Monkey.

Special Agents[]

Special Agents are units that can be placed down for free, as long as you have them in your inventory. In CSBTD7, there are two types of Agents: General Agents and Utility Agents. General Agents are there to give you some extra DPS against the Bloons. They can be upgraded to their Pro variant at the cost of another of the respective Agent from your inventory. It's sort of like merging two Agents into a stronger one. After that, they can be upgraded to their Elite variant at the cost of yet another of the respective Agent from your inventory.

Utility Agents are there to make your game easier by modifying the terrain of the track, or by managing game aspects for you. Unlike General Agents, Utility Agents do not have Pro and Elite variants, as they are meant to only do specific tasks.

Bloons[]

The Bloons are your enemies that try to escape through the exit. The Bloons have a layering mechanic that works just like the earlier games of the series. When a Bloon leaks, you will lose health. The number of health points lost is equal to the base RBE (Red Bloon Equivalent) of that Bloon. In Track mode, CSBTD7 has 23 different Bloon Types.

The speed of Bloons is measured in RBS (Red Bloon Speed), which is the speed relative to that of a Red Bloon. The RBE in parentheses is the Fortified RBE.

Bloon Properties are modifications of existing Bloon Types to give them new abilities. CSBTD7 has 5 different Bloon Properties.

Regrow: Bloons with this property are heart-shaped. They regenerate one layer every 4 seconds. They cannot regenerate past the layers they started with. Can apply on every non-MOAB-Class Bloon. The first Regrows appear om Round 14, which has Regrow Yellows.

Camo: Bloons with this property have a camoflage pattern on them. They cannot be seen by Monkeys that don't have Camo detection, and projectiles that cannot pop them phase right through them. Can apply on every non-MOAB-Class Bloon, and DDTs always have this property. The first Camos appear on Round 18, which has Camo Greens.

Fortified: Bloons with this property have metal bands around them. They have double HP, quadruple for Metal and Orange Bloons. Can apply on Metal, Orange and all Armoured and MOAB-Class Bloons. The first Fortifieds appear on Round 36, which has Fortified Metals.

Ghost: Not related to Ghost Bloons in BATTD. Bloons with this property are more transparent and have a ghostly face on them. They just act like sneakier Camo Bloons. All Monkeys that detect Ghost can detect Camo, but not vice versa. Can apply on every non-MOAB-Class Bloon, and GHOLs always have this property. The first Ghost Bloons appear on Round 42, which has Ghost Rainbows.

Zombie: Not related to Zombie Bloons in BATTD. Bloons with this property are covered in a green zombie fungus. Each time they get damage, they spread the zombie fungus to Monkeys within 30 range, slowing them down by 66%. Tier 6 Monkeys, Heroes and Agents are slowed by 33%. Some Monkeys have complete Zombie immunity, others have certain attacks not affected by Zombie. Can affect every non-MOAB-Class Bloon. BLONs always have the Zombie property, but they also have 50 infection range. The first Zombies appear on Round 52, which has Zombie Ceramics.

Story Mode contains more Bloon Types and other enemies, such as X-variants and Bosses. I will make seperate pages for these Bloon Types.

Trivia[]

  • CSBTD7 uses the same cursed 2,5D perspective as BTD6, but it also has 3D models for non-MOAB-Class Bloons. It also has better lighting (still not great tho)
  • Unlike in BTD6, you can place Banana Farms on CHIMPS and Deflation mode, and they will produce bananas, but collecting them does nothing.
  • The Plumber Monkey description is more detailed so it's easier to get the reference.
  • In CSBTD7 a Fortified BFB has exactly 8128 RBE. What a nice coincidence.
  • Don't be fooled by the BLON's little RBE. It is a nightmarish Bloon to deal with.
  • The main article already took more than 3 weeks to write. At this rate it will take years to write down all my ideas.
