The Axe Monkey is a Primary Tower for Bloons TD 6 that is introduced in a future update. It is unlocked after 3,500,000 pops like Dartling Gunner, Beast Handler, Mermonkey, and Desperado. Costing $275 in Medium Mode, the tower is a regular monkey holding an Sharp-type axe, swinging in 180 degrees that deals 8 pierce and 1 damage every 1.5s. Upgrades focus on each path: the first is shooting lasers for more Bloon-annihilating power, the second is stunning them and summoning bulls for increased rampage, and the third is creating crescent-shaped projectiles in eight directions after losing a few lives while creating Skeleton Monkeys.

Origins[]

Axe Monkey is a tower originally created in 2013 by Monkeysandbox, created during the Bloons TD 5 Generation. It functioned as a melee tower, slashing Bloons in an arc. Notably, The tower predates the Beast Handler–the first melee tower released which only functions as a unupgraded form–as it was created before the April 4, 2023, update. After receiving three delete requests, the original page was deleted by JustLeafy due to originality and balancing concerns on September 18, 2019. The page was later recreated as a Bloons TD 6 Generation tower on June 24, 2025, making more unique and balanced than the previous iteration and its concurrent now-deleted versions of Maxywaxy, Tristan395, and Bloons Tower Defense 7: Global Warfare. Axe Monkey's current appearance is similar to that of the Dart Monkey, with the main distinction being a silver-bladed axe having a wooden handle that it holds at its left hand.

  • Description: "Spiked mace can stun Bloons for a short duration."
  • Stats:
    • Axe attack performs a shockwave that applies Stun for 0.5 seconds

Moo-moo Mallet ($7,250)[]

  • Description: "Bull Rush Ability: The bull charges toward the track anywhere to crush the Bloons."
  • Stats:
    • Axe attack buffed: Stun lasts longer for 0.75 seconds and Blowback deals +2d. This upgrade also changes the weapon to a mythical hammer with blue cracks.
    • Adds Bull Rush activated ability: The bull will appear on the screen in a random direction where it will charge toward the tower and could be seen with a big orange mark (>>) on the screen. Hitting the bull within the tower's range can redirect its direction, prioritizing in one or more Bloon Track(s). Cooldown: 45 seconds, with 12 seconds initially.
      • The bull has a stomp attack (10d with +30md, 100p, 30 absolute speed (as), Aggressive Seeking, Normal type) and directly targets the Bloons without losing its trajectory.

Minotaur Horde ($45,000)[]

  • Description: "The Bloons have nothing to stop with these quartet minotaurs!"
  • Stats:
    • Axe attack buffed: Stun lasts longer for 1 second and Blowback deals +3d (5)

    • Gains a passive Retaliation-type ability: shoots 32-unit Normal-type eight crescent projectiles in an Orbital Spray formation that deal 4d, 100p, and 0.75s (within hitbox). Cooldown: 60 seconds, with 20 seconds initially.

The Grim Reaper ($50,000)[]

  • Description: "The personification of Death itself vows many Bloons to oblivion, and then shreds them into bits."
  • Stats:
    • Axe attack buffed: Swing limit increases by +2 (4)
    • Dark magic explosion buffed: +4d (6), +20p (40), +5r (25), 65% chance to summon a skeleton subtower
    • Skeleton Monkey buffed: +3d (4), +5p (10), 1s; lasts for 15 seconds; and up to seven can be placed

  • Axe attack: ∞p; 35r; 0.125s (360-degree spin); applies Knockback that pushes non-MOAB-Class Bloons backwards by 30%, MOAB-Class Bloons up to ZOMG rank by 15%, and BADs by 10%; Normal type
  • Gamma ray attack: ∞r, 3j, 0.8s with a cooldown of 4 seconds (360-degree spin), Normal type
  • Skeletal Stampede activated ability: tagging each Bloon onscreen up to ZOMG rank will summon up to 15 Skeleton Minotaurs upon dealing 75 damage or being popped. Each Aggressive Seeking-Skeleton Minotaur inflicts Normal type damage and stuns any Bloon for 2.5 seconda in a 20-unit stomp attack.
